What does it mean when food is regional ? What does All organic, or what stand for? An increasing number of Germans prefer regional products and are even willing to pay more for them.

We wanted to know the significance of organic and also the importance of regional food. There are indeed important differences in the customer perception. Organic means controlled production conditions, specifications and control. Even though the labels can be rather confusing, it means a rational guarantee for the consumer.

Regional represents something else than organic

This is different with regional products. Indeed, these have a different appeal, namely a clearly more emotional one. Regional means the products are locally grown, they represent closeness, trust and transparency.
